78756 Building Permits: Small Totals, Woodrow and William Holland Examples

Last reviewed September 17, 2026 · City of Austin issued permit records · Kimbrough Gray · KiliGray Homes
Two three-unit address groups are large enough to matter in 78756’s small annual sample. Woodrow Avenue and William Holland Avenue each contribute three new units in the September 2026 review. The entire year-over-year difference is also three units, so the underlying addresses provide more useful context than a percentage change alone.
Applies to: Austin-issued residential records in ZIP 78756; buildings with five or more units excluded.

Local findings: September 2026 review

Reviewed 2026-09-17; records observed 2026-09-15. Period: September 2025–August 2026. Findings describe that saved window; the current comparison above can advance separately.

Two distinct months contain identifiable three-unit groups

At 5505 William Holland Avenue, three one-unit building records contribute three units in November 2025. At 4909 Woodrow Avenue, another three contribute three in February 2026. Together they supply six of the reviewed year’s 21 units. William Holland’s records explain three of November’s five units; Woodrow accounts for all three units recorded in February.

The annual difference is the size of one of those groups

The previous twelve months recorded 24 units, compared with 21 in this review. Moving a three-unit group across the boundary of a twelve-month comparison could change a result of that size, although the records do not establish that timing explains this particular decline. The point is sensitivity: a small absolute change can look more decisive as a percentage than the evidence warrants.

The remaining activity is scattered across smaller contributions

After the two three-unit address groups, fifteen units remain elsewhere. The full set resolves to sixteen base addresses on thirteen streets. For an infill review, the Woodrow and William Holland files offer specific multi-building examples, while the smaller contributions may be better matches for a single-home proposal. The annual total alone cannot identify a representative building size or construction budget.

Planning context: Brentwood/Highland: corridors and residential-street distinctions.

Send us an address and we will tell you what we find

We do this research ourselves on every project we take on — zoning, floodplain, watershed, trees, whether it is a legal lot. Send us an address and we will run it and tell you what we find. It works the same whether you own a vacant lot, a house you are thinking of adding a unit to, or a house you are thinking of replacing. No charge and no strings, and if it is a bad lot we will say so.

We are homebuilders, not the City of Austin. This page explains how we read the code in practice — it is not legal advice and it is not an official determination. Always confirm with Austin Development Services before you rely on it for a project. The authoritative text is the Austin Land Development Code; permitting questions go to Austin Development Services Department.
